Chelsea recorded a goalless draw away to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday – and some Blues fans on Twitter were left raving about the performance of their defender Thiago Silva.
The Blues dropped more points in the Premier League at the weekend by drawing 0-0 at Molineux Stadium.
For 45 minutes, Thomas Tuchel’s side really struggled to stamp their authority on the contest and looked somewhat off the pace compared to the hosts. It was a much more dominant second-half effort from Tuchel’s team, but they couldn’t find a winner.
Therefore, Chelsea stay third in the league table and are now six points adrift of leaders Manchester City.
They’ve now picked up just five points from their last four league matches to massively dent title aspirations.
Chelsea fans adore Silva
A selection of Blues supporters on social media believe Silva was outstanding against Wolves.
The 37-year-old centre-back defended with such authority for 90 minutes, timing everything he did to perfection and reading the game exquisitely.
He’s a colossus in the heart of the back three and it’s remarkable to see what he’s doing at his age.
The South American is getting plenty of minutes in his legs right now without too much rest, but Tuchel previously explained how he can play extra games in his “protected role” as the central defender.
