‘Fantastic news’, ‘He’s back’: Some Chelsea fans react to what they’ve spotted in their training

Mason Mount has been spotted back in Chelsea training – and some Blues fans on Twitter are over the moon with the news.

Mount, 22, has missed the last two consecutive games for the Blues. Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel confirmed earlier this week that he was absent from Tuesday’s Champions League 1-0 win over Malmo due to illness.

However, it looks there is good news.

Tuchel will confirm for sure in his weekly Friday press conference, but it seems like Mount is back in contention for this weekend’s Premier League fixture at home to Burnley.

Mount has been spotted in training pictures by popular Chelsea Twitter account CFC Daily. Also, some eagle-eyed supporters noticed him in a training video put out on Thursday by the club’s official Twitter account.

Chelsea fans celebrate Mount return

A selection of Blues supporters on social media are delighted to see Mount back on the training field at Cobham.

It’s been a bit of a stop-start season so far for him and it feels like he’s still looking to rediscover his golden touch in the 2021/22 campaign.

He showed huge signs that he’s on his way back, though, with his most recent performance against Norwich City. The attacking midfielder netted a brilliant hat-trick at Stamford Bridge on 23 October, so that confidence should still be rushing through his veins. Pat Nevin said he was “bordering on perfection” during the Norwich match.

He needs more goals

If he’s to move into the elite category of players, he’s got to start scoring more.

He netted his first three goals of the season last time out and he should be setting a target of at least double figures.
