'Finally': Some Chelsea fans happy about combination Tuchel's picked in starting line-up vs Brighton

Chelsea have named their starting XI for tonight’s Premier League match against Brighton – and some Blues fans on Twitter absolutely love one combination included in the line-up.

The Blues have confirmed their side before Wednesday’s league fixture, which includes four changes from the weekend 3-1 win over Aston villa.

Romelu Lukaku, Cesar Azpilicueta, Andreas Christensen and Mateo Kovacic are all promoted to the team.

Meanwhile, N’Golo Kante, Marcos Alonso, Trevoh Chalobah and the injured Thiago Silva drop out.

Chelsea fans celebrate starting partnership

A selection of Blues supporters on social media are celebrating the team news that Jorginho and Kovacic are starting together as the midfield combination.

Of course, N’Golo Kante is a very popular figure at Stamford Bridge that makes a major difference when he plays.

However, the Jorginho-Kovacic pivot is an extremely experienced one that can dictate games given how technical both central midfielders are in possession.

They were on the pitch together in the Villa result a few days ago, but tonight’s a first league start for Kovacic since 23 October.

It’s due to be a tough encounter against a Brighton side that play attractive football and like to move the ball about quickly, but Tuchel will be looking for his starting pair to boss the midfield battle.

The Blues look in a much stronger position when they’ve got any combination of Jorginho, Kovacic or Kante starting together.
