'Literally carrying us': Some Chelsea fans credit one player despite their 1-1 draw v Everton

Chelsea dropped two points at home to Everton on Thursday night – but some Blues fans on Twitter did at least find one big positive in the display of Mason Mount.

Chelsea let a one-goal lead slip at Stamford Bridge to end up drawing 1-1 in the Premier League fixture.

In-form attacker Mount, 22, finally put the hosts ahead after several chances by scoring in the 70th minute. However, visitors Everton earned their point when defender Jarrad Branthwaite got on the end of a free-kick on a rare adventure into the Chelsea half.

The result means Thomas Tuchel’s side remain third in the league table and it’s another weekend where they’ve lost ground at the top. As a result, they are four points adrift of league leaders Manchester City.

Mount the Chelsea jewel right now

A selection of Chelsea supporters on social media believe that Mount was a rare positive for them in a disappointing result against Everton.

The England international has now scored in four consecutive Premier League games, albeit he’ll know he should’ve netted with a chance in the first half tonight.

He’s now up to seven goals and four assists in 21 appearances this season to show his improvement in the final third. Unfortunately, plenty of his teammates weren’t on his wavelength in the attacking third against Everton.
