Mason Mount made his first appearance for Manchester United today following his transfer from Chelsea this summer.
It will have been a strange occasion on Wednesday afternoon for Mason Mount, who played for the first time since leaving Stamford Bridge during this transfer window.
The 24-year-old attacking midfielder started and played the first half during Man United’s 2-0 win against Leeds United in pre-season.
He’ll hope to make his competitive debut for his new club when their Premier League campaign kicks off against Wolverhampton Wanderers next month.

Chelsea fans know all about the qualities of Mount, who played 195 first-team appearances for them in his career.
However, the Blues academy graduate has now embarked on a new chapter at Old Trafford.
The English playmaker enjoyed a fairly lively contribution in midweek on his debut against Leeds, albeit it’s worth pointing out it was only the very first game of a pre-season schedule.
He went very close to scoring when his chipped effort went just over the crossbar. It’s no surprise the No 7 created the chance from some of his own trademark pressing.
There’s no doubt his own individuals levels dropped off a long way last season, the same as most Chelsea players, but United will have quite the player on their hands if he can get back to anywhere near his best under Erik ten Hag’s management.

The Athletic reports that Man United think they’ve got themselves a great deal by paying Chelsea £55million for Mount’s signature.
Only time will tell if that’s the case, though.
A selection of United fans on social media certainly seemed impressed by the first 45-minute cameo from Mount in a red shirt.
