'Needed at the Bridge': Some Chelsea fans keen to sign Juve star after watching his CL display

Chelsea supporters on social media were stunned by the formidable presence of Juventus match-winner Federico Chiesa last night.

Chiesa crushed the Blues in Turin thanks to a terrific strike just 11 seconds into the second-half.

He had already shown signs of intent during the opening stages, flashing a shot just wide of Edouard Mendy’s post.

The Italian made no mistake with his subsequent effort after the restart that rose like a missile into the top corner.

Some Juve fans had probably not even returned from their pit-stop at the interval before Chiesa had put their side into the lead.

Unfortunately for Chelsea followers watching on at home, they caught the winger’s goal and his general disruptive performance.

Here’s how they reacted on Twitter:

Chiesa in Chelsea’s view

Understandably, the Blues faithful ordered Roman Abramovich to pull out his cheque book for Chiesa following yesterday’s exhibition.

A speedy forward, with great energy and an eye for the net; what’s not to love?

However, if reports are to be believed, Chelsea’s owner has already attempted to lure the 23-year-old from his colosseum.

Journalist Florian Plettenberg claimed Juve turned down an £85m bid for Chiesa from Abramovich in the summer.

But this seemingly hasn’t halted the Russian’s transfer ambitions.

Calciomercato recently suggested the Blues were plotting another attempt to prize the Old Lady’s young winger from the Allianz Stadium.

Wednesday’s performance probably added a few extra million onto Chiesa’s price tag.

And it’s unlikely Chelsea will be the only club after his signature at the end of the season, or even in January.
