'Putting in a shift': Some Chelsea fans impressed by star's display in 2-0 win vs Spurs

Chelsea recorded a strong 2-0 win against Tottenham on Wednesday night – and some Blues fans on Twitter were left really impressed by the performance of Hakim Ziyech.

The Blues thoroughly deserved their two-goal advantage in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final tie.

It was one way traffic for much of the contest at Stamford Bridge, so they will travel to Spurs for the second leg as strong favourites to progress to the final.

Thomas Tuchel’s side went ahead after just five minutes when Kai Havertz’s shot was deflected in after a great through ball from Macos Alonso. Afterwards, a calamitous own goal from Ben Davies doubled Chelsea’s advantage.

Tuchel won the Champions League crown during his first season in charge and they now have one foot in the door to reach a League Cup final during this campaign.

Chelsea fans applaud Ziyech

A selection of Chelsea supporters on social media believe Ziyech was a standout during the 2-0 victory at home to Spurs.

The 28-year-old winger hasn’t been a regular starter of late and has had to be patient on the bench at times.

However, he made the most of his recall to the starting XI this evening.

The left-footed playmaker created some glorious opportunities for teammates throughout the contest, including a stunning driven pass that got Timo Werner through on goal.

For Ziyech, he’ll be hoping he’s done enough to earn some more minutes on the pitch.

Here are some Blues fans raving about Ziyech:
