'Quality', 'What a player': Some fans react as their side reportedly make bid for Chelsea prospect

Newcastle United have reportedly launched a bid to try sign Chelsea prospect Armando Broja – and some of their fans on Twitter are extremely excited with the transfer speculation.

Broja, 20, is a hot topic in the media due to his form this season during a loan with Premier League club Southampton.

Tuttomercatoweb reports that Newcastle have put forward a €40million (£33million) offer for the Chelsea-owned centre-forward. However, Southampton have bid €30million (£25million) to try keep the youngster on a permanent deal.

In addition, top-flight trio Leeds United, Everton and Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly interested in the 20-year-old rising talent.

It looks like Chelsea have a big decision to make on Broja, whose loan deal with Southampton expires at the end of this season. The Albania international is outperforming most of Chelsea’s attackers right now, so it’ll be interesting to see if the Blues consider keeping the striker for next year.

Newcastle fans impressed by Chelsea talent

A selection of Newcastle supporters on social media say that Broja is exactly the type of profile they’d love at St James’ Park.

The cash-rich club are popular in transfer speculation right now, but the fact they’ve reportedly bid £30million-plus for the Chelsea prospect is a telling sign. They’ve already spent £25million this month to sign Burnley frontman Chris Wood, too.

He’s played one senior match for the Blues since coming up from the academy. His fame is coming from an excellent time out on loan with Southampton, though.

The powerhouse striker is very strong at the age of just 20, as well as possessing great pace. It’s helped him score seven goals in 21 matches so far this season.

Here are some Newcastle fans that would love Broja at their club:
