Chelsea supporters were put through yet another painful game this season, this time losing 3-1 against Arsenal on Tuesday night.

The Blues suffered a 3-1 away defeat this evening during their trip to the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League.

Frank Lampard, who’s now lost all six games as Chelsea’s caretaker boss, watched his side get blown away during a very poor first-half in North London.

Martin Odegaard (two) and Gabriel Jesus scored first-half goals for Arsenal, who have regained their spot at the top of the league table above Manchester City.

For Chelsea, they had the consolation of a goal from Noni Madueke in the second period. In fairness, we deserved nothing from the game as an overall contest despite some fight in the second-half.

A selection of Chelsea fans on social media did give credit to Madueke after his midweek contribution.

The 21-year-old winger was handed his first start during Lampard’s interim reign, and he was the bright spark in blue.

He worked tirelessly in his defensive work and tried to make things happen on the ball, albeit he’s still a young talent that does look raw on occasions.

The English attacker got his reward with his first Chelsea goal midway through the second-half. He timed his run in behind Arsenal’s defence to perfection before his finish bounced in over the keeper.

Madueke showed the kind of effort and application that is so desperately lacking in this Chelsea side at present.

The left-footed wide player does inject some extra pace and directness into the Blues line-up, so he’s got to be getting regular minutes from now until the end of the season.

It was another horror night for our fans to watch against rivals Arsenal, but perhaps Madueke is the glimmer of light that does indicate some hope for the future.

Here are some Chelsea fans on Twitter praising Madueke:
