‘What a gem’, ‘Please buy’: Some fans rave about today’s display from their 20-year-old Chelsea loanee

Armando Broja scored for Southampton today in a Premier League match – and some Saints fans on Twitter were left raving about the performance from their Chelsea loanee.

Broja, 20, is currently on a season-long loan at St Mary’s from parent club Chelsea.

The centre-forward impressed on Saturday afternoon during Southampton’s 1-1 home draw against rivals Brighton. He scored an opener in the first half before Neal Maupay’s 98th minute equaliser for the visitors.

Broja’s fifth goal of the season in all competitions was pure quality. A great piece of skill bamboozled an opposition defender in the box to create room for a shot at goal, which he tucked in with the outside of his boot.

The Albanian international hasn’t been a nailed-on starter so far during his loan, but is grabbing any opportunity when it’s thrown his way by Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl.

Chelsea have yet another loan star

A lot of talk among the Chelsea fanbase is around the futures of loan duo Conor Gallagher and Billy Gilmour, who are two extremely talented youngsters playing at Crystal Palace and Norwich City respectively this season.

However, Broja should be added to the list of players that may have a long-term future at Stamford Bridge. Interestingly, he spoke in the summer about the help he’s received from Tammy Abraham.

A selection of Southampton supporters on social media believe their striker was vital against Brighton.

The frontman is a physical threat up top with his size and power. In addition, he’s got quick feet and a turn of pace that makes him a nightmare for defenders.

Here are some Saints fans discussing Broja:
