Ben Chilwell has given Chelsea fans reason to feel optimistic about his return from injury thanks to a positive social media post.

Chilwell uploaded a few snaps to his Instagram story of himself in full training gear in various action poses.

He dribbled round a cone with the ball at his feet in one, followed by a picture of him running with the footie just ahead of him.

There were no teammates to be found in the photos, which is understandable considering the defender’s circumstances.

Ben Chilwell edges towards injury comeback

The 26-year-old is currently still recovering from the hamstring injury he suffered at the start of November.

His dream of appearing at a World Cup was shattered, whilst the full-back’s domestic season was also torn into pieces.

But there is still hope for Chilwell to at least finish the campaign on a high.

Whilst it’s not certain when his homecoming might occur, the latest update on his rehabilitation process should be one to smile about.

Hopefully Graham Potter will soon be able to recall a number of the wounded soldiers currently taking him the space in the treatment room.

Alongside Chilwell, the Chelsea manager is currently without Edouard Mendy, N’Golo Kante, Reece James, Raheem Sterling, Wesley Fofana, Christian Pulisic, Mason Mount and Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

Throw one more in there and Potter could form a pretty strong XI of players nursing injuries.
