Frank Lampard confirmed in today’s press conference that Kai Havertz will be missing for Chelsea tomorrow.
Chelsea host Brentford on Wednesday night in the Premier League, which is a fixture that finished 0-0 in the previous meeting this season.
The Blues are no longer in the hunt for any silverware this season after a really underwhelming campaign, but the fans would certainly love to see them climb up the league table in their final seven league games. As it stands, they sit 11th on only 39 points.
Kai Havertz will have to watch from the stands his teammates try to end a run of four consecutive defeats across all competitions.

Lampard confirmed earlier today an injury blow to Chelsea’s attacker:
“Kai still struggling a little bit with his knee, won’t be available for tomorrow but the good news is he should be training at the end of the week,” Lampard said, as quoted by Football London.
Fortunately, it doesn’t sound like a serious problem for the 23-year-old forward, who should be back in training at Cobham later this week.
It’s going to be interesting to see who starts in attack against Brentford without the Germany international, though.
Elsewhere, Lampard confirmed (official website) in his press conference that Reece James and Mason Mount have been ruled out for the rest of the season through injury. There’s a chance Mount could be back in time for the final game next month.

The Evening Standard has claimed that Chelsea’s co-owner Todd Boehly wants Havertz to sign a new contract at Stamford Bridge.
The left-footed forward does split opinion in the fanbase due to his lack of end product, with his tally of nine goals in 41 games this season too low for someone with his individual talent.
It’s going to be interesting to see if he can sign off this 2022/23 season in some kind of form.
This next month is a chance for players in the Chelsea squad to play for their futures and prove they should be in the plans for next season.
