Chelsea might finally be able to welcome Ben Chilwell back to the fold in their next fixture.

According to the Telegraph, Chilwell is hopeful to make his long-awaited return from injury at home to Fulham next Friday.

The defender has not kicked a ball competitively for nearly three months, following the hamstring injury he sustained against Dinamo Zagreb in November.

He had only really just recovered from a lengthy spell on the side-lines that started in the previous season before suffering this latest wound.

But unlike some of the other damaged Chelsea players, the full-back has not been rushed through his rehabilitation.

Both Reece James and Wesley Fofana were seemingly not fully fit from their respective injuries when Graham Potter was given the green light to restore them to the team.

James and Fofana are still overcoming their most recent obstacles, along with a host of other members of Potter’s fragile squad.

Heading into the London derby with Fulham in just under a weeks’ time, the Blues boss is currently without ten senior stars.

There hasn’t yet been given a definitive return date for Armando Broja, Christian Pulisic, N’Golo Kante, Denis Zakaria, Raheem Sterling, Edouard Mendy and Fofana yet.

The news about Chilwell and James is much more positive, as the English pair have both been in training leading up to the capital city clash.

Joao Felix is serving the last of his three-match ban, having picked up a red card against Fulham earlier in the month.
