Thomas Tuchel confirms Chelsea star who missed Wednesday is now available v West Ham

Thomas Tuchel has given Chelsea fans some great news by confirming that Reece James is fit to play in this weekend’s Premier League clash against West Ham.

James, 21, missed Wednesday night’s victory at Watford with an ankle problem.

However, Tuchel confirmed in his press conference today that the England internatonal is available for the trip to West Ham.

The right wing-back has been a vital figure at Stamford Bridge this season, so news of his return is a huge boost.

He’s scored five goals and made five assists in just 15 appearances this season in all competitions.

Colossal Chelsea news

It goes to show how much James has improved in recent months when you consider the importance of him returning from injury.

The Blues definitely missed his physical and attacking presence in the tight 2-1 win over Watford in midweek.

There is no doubt that this Saturday’s London derby against West Ham is going to be a fiery encounter, which is exactly the type of fixture James can thrive in.

His return on the flank gives this XI a much better balance.

More injury updates

Aside from the positive news about James, Tuchel did confirm four first-team players are sidelined at the weekend.

Mateo Kovacic, N’Golo Kante and Ben Chilwell remain out of action with their respective injuries. In addition, Trevoh Chalobah is now missing after sustaining an injury problem in the previous match.

Thankfully, this is a Chelsea squad built to cope with injury obstacles.
