Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has confirmed the names of four players who are unavailable to face Juventus this week in the Champions League.
The Blues travel to Turin on Wednesday night to face Italian giants Juventus in the Champions League group stages.
First of all, Reece James won’t be able to play against Juventus due to the injury he sustained on the weekend in the defeat to Manchester City.
In addition, attacking duo Mason Mount and Christian Pulisic remain sidelined with their respective injury problems.
Finally, midfielder N’Golo Kante is unavailable because he’s tested positive for Covid-19.
How will Chelsea line-up?
With four important players missing tomorrow night, it’s going to be intriguing to see what Tuchel’s starting XI will look like.
It’s a massive game in the context of the Champions League group stages and an away victory should put Chelsea in a favourable position. However, a defeat makes this group very tough.
We at The Chelsea Chronicle have predicted the team Tuchel will select against Serie A opposition Juventus. It’s clear, though, that a strong core of the side is unavailable.
Ruben’s time to shine
It looks like a door may be open for Loftus-Cheek to impress.
Many were questioning the 25-year-old’s future not too long ago, but he’s now in from the cold.
He looked majorly impressive off the bench at the weekend, so surely he’s got to be in the manager’s thought process for midweek.
He’s a box-to-box midfielder that could bring the extra dynamism the team could lack without Mount and Kante.
