Thomas Tuchel has confirmed that Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante will be named on the bench tomorrow at home to Everton.

The Blues welcome Everton to Stamford Bridge on Thursday night in the Premier League and they’ve received a great piece of injury news.

Tuchel revealed on Wednesday in his pre-match press conference that Kante will be a substitute in tomorrow’s match. Also, Trevoh Chalobah is going to be part of the squad.

Kante and Chalobah have both missed games recently through respective injuries, so it’s a great double boost to have both back in contention this week.

Third-placed Chelsea know that a victory against Everton will take them to within two points of current Premier League leaders Manchester City.

Chelsea can breathe huge sigh of relief

Of course, Kante may need some time getting back to full match fitness after missing several games through injury. However, his return to the bench against Everton is mammoth.

The £30million star remains one of the world’s elite central midfielders that any team would love to have.

It’s clear the Blues have missed his presence in the centre of the park because of the sheer amount of work he gets through per 90 minutes.

Aged 30, he’s playing as good as he ever has during 2021. For instance, his form in last season’s Champions League campaign was sensational.

There are some supporters that are worried about the numerous injury problems starting to crop up, though.

It’s going to be a relief for Tuchel when he can lean on the experience of both Kante and Jorginho, with the option to rotate the duo at times.
