Numerous media outlets have been full of praise for Chelsea’s Joao Felix after his performance for Portugal last night.
Both GOAL and Sportskeeda were complimentary of the 23-year-old’s performance as Portugal ran out 4-0 winners over Lichtenstein.
Felix was playing in a partnership with Cristiano Ronaldo up top, as the former Todd Boehly transfer target broke the record for international appearances with his start.
He took his good form with his new club into the first international game since World Cup disappointment against Morocco.
While he wasn’t one of the goalscorers, his performance picked up plenty of praise from those completing player ratings for the game.
GOAL said: “Given plenty of room to operate, but didn’t always provide the final pass. A delight to watch on the ball, though.”
Felix praised for Portugal display
Meanwhile, Sportskeeda have said: “Liechtenstein struggled to deal with the threat he posed from the left. Felix often linked up brilliantly with Ronaldo and almost bagged an assist after he chested the ball down for the 38-year-old but he was offside.”
It has been somewhat of a turn of fortunes for Felix since he made the loan move to Chelsea back in January.
Goals have not been flowing, although he did get his first at Stamford Bridge last time out against Everton.
He has established himself as a crucial member of the attack for Graham Potter, featuring in the frontline every game he hasn’t been suspended for.
He will likely play an essential role in the Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid next month.
Having impressed in both legs against Borussia Dortmund, he will be relied upon to impress again in the only competition left this season that holds any real importance for the Blues.
