Barcelona defender Sergino Dest shared his impression of Christian Pulisic after watching the Chelsea winger during United States national team sessions.

Pulisic joined the USMNT training camp in Cardiff for their friendly fixture against Wales on Wednesday despite the hamstring injury.

US boss Greg Berhalter said the former Borussia Dortmund player is listed as “day-to-day” at the moment, but praised Pulisic’s willingness to stay with the squad despite the injury (Fox Sports via Goal).

In another interview for the US Soccer official website, Berhalter said Pulisic is seen as a leader in the squad due to his experience in the national team and at the club level.

His teammate Dest who joined Barcelona from Ajax this summer also seems to rate Pulisic very highly.

“I haven’t met Gio Reyna, so I don’t know him as a person, but I played with Pulisic. He’s a really good player; they’re both really good players,” Dest told ESPN when asked about his two USMNT teammates.

“I saw in the first couple of [USMNT] training sessions before I made my debut against Mexico, he [Pulisic] was so good, you know, in the training.

“I had some recovery sessions, so I was just looking at the training, but he was almost unstoppable.

“And then in the games you see it, he plays really well.

“Hopefully we can get a good connection on the field and can play with each other really well.”

Unfortunately, the US national team has recently announced that Pulisic will return to Chelsea to continue working through his injury rehab which means Pulisic will miss the Wales game, as well as another friendly against Panama next week.

But hopefully, the winger will now have the time to rest and recover ahead of Chelsea’s Premier League trip to Newcastle United on Saturday, 21 November.
