Reece James and Declan Rice react to Chelsea star's international display at the weekend

Reece James and Declan Rice joined a host of other household names to congratulate Chelsea left-back Ben Chilwell for his England antics on Saturday.

Chilwell uploaded a celebratory post to Instagram after he grabbed his first senior goal for the Three Lions at the weekend.

His first-half strike kick-started England’s routine 5-0 World Cup qualifying walkover in Andorra.

Ben back involved

The defender hadn’t featured for Gareth Southgate’s side since March, mainly because of the club displays of Marco Alonso.

Had fellow Chelsea star Reece James not pulled out of the latest squad through injury, Chilwell may have remained at Cobham during the international break.

As it panned out, the 24-year-old was required and managed to repay Southgate’s trust.

He was able to share this special moment on social media, allowing teammates and friends to send their congratulations.

Along with James and Rice, Mason Mount sent his Stamford Bridge affection Chilwell’s way.

As did third-choice goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli.

Chelsea’s loaned-out Danny Drinkwater also jumped on the supportive bandwagon.

Former Blues colleague Tammy Abraham, who also scored in the England victory, left his love in an emoji form.

Away from the Champions League winners, Leicester City’s James Maddison and Liverpool skipper Jordan Henderson shared their own well-done messages.

Giving Chilwell the cold shoulder

Unfortunately for Chilwell, he hasn’t been feeling this kind of warmth much recently.

Losing his place to Alonso has led the full-back to appear just four times for Chelsea this season.

Only half of those have been starts, a mighty fall from his regular appearances last year.

Chilwell will hope Thomas Tuchel tuned into the England game – and enjoyed what he saw.
