Chelsea loanee Connor Gallagher made his debut for Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon – and some Palace fans on Twitter were amazed by his performance.

Gallagher, 21, completed a move away from Chelsea this summer to join Palace on a season-long loan.

He was unavailable to play last week, but made his debut for the Eagles in today’s 0-0 draw at home to Brentford.

Palace had to settle for a point in their goalless draw, but Gallagher made a great impression during the Premier League fixture.

The English midfielder went so close to scoring in the first half when he struck the woodwork. In addition, he ran his socks off for 90 minutes in a box-to-box role that saw him active in both halves of the pitch.

He was part of a West Brom side that were relegated during his previous season on loan, but it looks like he’s a great fit at Selhurst Park for the more expansive style that manager Patrick Vieira wants to bring.

Palace fans love Conor Gallagher already

A selection of Palace supporters on social media believe that Gallagher was a standout individual against Brentford.

He got minutes during pre-season under Thomas Tuchel, but another year out on loan was deemed the best mover for his development.

There is so much to like about his game with his work rate, stamina and passion. It’s just the consistency on the ball that will help elevate his game.
