‘Very happy’: Some fans excited as their club sign Chelsea 27-year-old on loan

Chelsea player Baba Rahman left Stamford Bridge on loan yesterday – and some Reading fans on Twitter are very excited after he joined them.

Rahman is a forgotten player still on the books at Chelsea, making just 23 Blues appearances since his move to West London back in 2015.

The 27-year-old has had some poor luck with injuries and is now heading out on yet another loan. Championship club Reading are the latest to land the defender’s signature on a season-long loan.

Rahman, who’s got 25 international caps for Ghana, is dropping down to England’s second tier to try find some success with a Reading team that finished one spot outside of the play-offs last season.

The left-back has great pace and energy to his game, which is why Chelsea snapped him up from Schalke six years ago.

It looks extremely unlikely there’s a way back for him at the Bridge, but perhaps he can start fresh in England. All of his loan deals have been abroad in the last few years, but he’s now set to get a real chance trying to impress in English football.

Reading fans over the moon by Baba Rahman deal

A selection of Reading supporters on social media are surprisingly buzzing with their new loan signing.

First of all, it’s worth noting they’ve secured a loan deal for someone with solid international experience under his belt. Also, he’s arrived at the Madejski Stadium to fill a left-back role that they desperately needed a new signing in.

Fingers crossed he can enjoy a strong 2021/22 season in the Championship.
