Chelsea and Bournemouth played out another draw in the Premier League on Tuesday night.
Earlier this month, Chelsea travelled to the Vitality Stadium to face Bournemouth and drew 0-0 with Andoni Iraola’s side.
Following their 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa last Saturday, they really needed a win this time around. However, they were held to another draw, with the scoreline finishing 2-2 on this occasion.
Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott has since given his assessment on what was a very exciting match between the two Premier League clubs.

Alex Scott admits Chelsea dominated in second half
Bournemouth went toe-to-toe with Chelsea in the first half of Tuesday’s game at Stamford Bridge, even managing to take the lead.
However, Scott has admitted that the home side were the more dominant team after the restart.
Speaking to Bournemouth’s official club website after the match, the 22-year-old said: “The first half was more end-to-end and they maybe dominated the second, but we showed we wanted it and we were much better defensively than we have been in recent weeks. We’ve got to keep pushing and progressing heading into the new year.”
Who or what is to blame for Chelsea’s poor form? 📉
While Chelsea may have dominated the second 45 minutes, they failed to find a winning goal and have once again dropped more points.
Scott was perhaps impressed with what he saw from the Blues, but Chelsea supporters were not. The decision to take off Cole Palmer was booed by fans, who let Enzo Maresca know exactly how they felt.

Chelsea vs Bournemouth stats
In terms of ball possession, Chelsea did dominate against Bournemouth. As per Sofascore, they had 67% of the ball, while Bournemouth only had 33%.
However, in attack, the two sides were evenly matched. In fact, the Cherries even had a higher xG total.
| Chelsea vs Bournemouth stats | Ball possession | xG | Shots | Shots on target | Big chances missed |
| Chelsea | 67% | 2.31 | 17 | 3 | 1 |
| Bournemouth | 33% | 3.14 | 17 | 6 | 4 |
Ultimately, a draw was probably a fair result. Chelsea, though, needed much more than that after dropping out of the top four last weekend.
Liverpool now have a chance to extend their lead over their Premier League rivals to five points. They play Leeds United at Anfield on New Year’s Day and will be expected to win that match.
There is still a lot of football left to play, but at this stage, you have to be worried if you are a Chelsea fan.
