Chelsea won the Club World Cup on Sunday after beating Paris Saint-Germain 3-0 at the MetLife Stadium.
Enzo Maresca‘s men were able to get their hands on the trophy thanks to goals from Cole Palmer, who scored a brace, and Joao Pedro.
Pedro only arrived at Chelsea mid-tournament, but that has not stopped the forward from making an impact.
Former Blue Pat Nevin discussed Pedro earlier in the week, claiming that he could be the missing piece of the jigsaw for Chelsea.

Andros Townsend stunned by Joao Pedro’s impact
Pedro’s goal against PSG was his third at the Club World Cup, and his instant impact at Chelsea has surprised ex-Tottenham Hotspur winger Andros Townsend.
The 23-year-old only joined the Conference League winners at the start of the month but looks like he has been playing for them for seasons.
Commentating on the game for DAZN (13/07/2025 at 20:53), Townsend said: “I can’t believe what I’m seeing! [Malo] Gusto’s position is important but Pedro makes the run and shows great composure in the finish.
“This man was on the beach a week ago, now he’s scoring in the Club World Cup final.”
Pedro will get his chance to make his Premier League debut for Chelsea when the Blues take on Crystal Palace on 17 August.

Marquinhos also impressed with Joao Pedro
Chelsea made it to the Club World Cup final after beating Brazilian side Fluminense 2-0 in the semi-finals.
New signing Pedro scored twice on the day and was praised by PSG captain Marquinhos afterwards. When Marquinhos spoke about Pedro before the final, he said: “I already knew about the qualities of Joao Pedro, and he has had a chance to show that at Chelsea already because of the tournament that he is having. He is showing his qualities even more.”
While Maresca and Chelsea fans will be loving the impact that Pedro is making right now, Nicolas Jackson will have serious concerns.
The 24-year-old was already in danger of losing his starting spot following the arrival of Liam Delap and is now at risk of becoming the Blues’ third-choice striker.
Jackson had been linked to Arsenal, but a move to the Emirates looks highly unlikely as the Gunners close in on Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyokeres.
There has been speculation about AC Milan being interested in the Senegal international, so the San Siro could be a potential destination for him this summer.
