Chelsea secured a comprehensive victory in Stockholm over Djurgarden on Thursday night to edge closer to a European final.
Chelsea recorded a 4-1 away win against Swedish club Djurgarden in the first leg of the Conference League semi-final clash.
Jadon Sancho and Noni Madueke both scored in the first half for the visitors. This was followed by a second-half brace from substitute Nicolas Jackson.
For Cole Palmer, he did get an assist to his name after coming on at half time. However, it’s now 18 games across all competitions without a goal for him.
Paul Merson is shocked at Cole Palmer’s goal drought, and he’s not the only one. Even though he’s not netted since mid-January, he’s still on 14 goals for the season.

Chelsea fans worried Cole Palmer has lost his confidence
Chelsea supporters on social media have all pointed out that Palmer looks like a player drained of confidence right now.
Here are Blues fans on X discussing the 22-year-old’s performance away to Djurgarden…
One fan said: “Cole Palmer looks devoid of any confidence. Can’t seem to do anything right!”
“Palmer’s confidence is absolutely shattered,” another wrote.
One supporter claimed: “And that’s what a player with no confidence looks like. Palmer was in 1 on 1 and took random extra touches before turning away from the goal and losing it. He desperately needs something to bounce in off him.”
“You all blame Maresca for Palmer form? It’s so obvious it’s confidence issue not Maresca,” another added.
It’s been reported that Cole Palmer isn’t happy with Enzo Maresca’s tactics because he doesn’t have as much freedom on the pitch to influence the game.
In fairness, the attacking midfielder continues to get into so many dangerous areas. We agree with the fanbase that he’s struggling psychologically when it comes to his end product, something that was the complete opposite for the first 18 months of his Chelsea career.

Chelsea teammates are stepping up amid Cole Palmer dip
Nobody should be too harsh on Palmer because he carried the club on his back after arriving from Manchester City.
The good news is that others in the Blues dressing room are stepping up in a big way in 2025.
For instance, Enzo Fernandez added another two assists to his name during the Djurgarden game to keep up his great individual form. It’s now six goals and 13 assists for the Argentine midfielder across all competitions this campaign.
Meanwhile, Blues wingers such as Madueke, Sancho and Pedro Neto are looking much better in recent weeks going forward.
