Chelsea suffered a crushing away defeat at Manchester City on Saturday evening, which is a big blow to them in the top-four race.
Chelsea were beaten 3-1 by Man City at the Etihad Stadium this weekend in their Premier League match.
The Blues went ahead through Noni Madueke’s goal inside the opening three minutes. However, Enzo Maresca’s side failed to make the most of the early momentum, something which has become a bit of a pattern this season.
Josko Gvardiol equalised for the hosts before half time. Afterwards, Erling Haaland and Phil Foden scored second-half goals to earn them three points.
Following Saturday’s results across the league, Chelsea are now down to sixth in the division table.

Chelsea fans fume with Levi Colwill performance vs Manchester City
A selection of Chelsea supporters on social media ripped into Levi Colwill after his performance versus Man City. For what it’s worth, he wasn’t the only player on the pitch to perform well below par.
Many Blues fans on X described their 21-year-old defender as “overrated” after his weekend display:
One fan wrote: “I’m sorry but Colwill is overrated.”
“Colwill is so overrated by our fans,” another posted.
One supporter said: “Levi Colwill is the most overrated defender in the Premier League. Never seen a centre back so soft. He gets bullied by every proper striker.”
“Hate to say it but Colwill is very overrated,” another claimed.
Colwill was passed fit to play versus Man City after the missing Monday night’s win over Wolverhampton Wanderers with a knock.
The centre-back pairing of Trevoh Chalobah and Tosin Adarabioyo impressed against Wolves, but the latter dropped out to make way for regular starter Colwill.

Levi Colwill statistics vs Manchester City
Colwill’s performance away to Man City wasn’t too pretty on the eye test on Saturday. Unfortunately, the individual statistics highlight his struggles in Manchester as well.
| Minutes played | Accurate passes | Duels won | Duels lost | Tackles won | Blocks | Clearances | Match rating |
| 90 | 63/70 (90%) | 1 | 2 | 0 | 0 | 1 | 5.1 |
Like plenty of other central defenders, Colwill was second best in his individual battle with Man City frontman Erling Haaland.
The England centre-back, who’s come through the Chelsea academy, is a key starter under Maresca when he’s fit. It’ll be interesting to see whether Chalobah and Tosin can edge him out of the side moving forward, though.
Maresca recently said Chelsea’s Colwill is improving as a leader, but it sounds like he’s got a lot of work to do to win over many sceptical fans.
