Chelsea player ratings vs Crystal Palace as Jadon Sancho receives high score and one player gets 4/10

Chelsea have now gone four games without a win in the Premier League after the 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon.

Cole Palmer put the Blues in front after just 14 minutes of an excellent first-half display but they failed to put the game to bed.

Palace improved in the second half and Enzo Maresca’s side always looked likely to concede at some point.

Here are The Chelsea Chonicle’s player ratings, with Jadon Sancho receiving the highest score of any player.

Chelsea player ratings vs Crystal Palace

Robert Sanchez – 6/10

Robert Sanchez didn’t have too much to do in the Chelsea net, despite the home side’s six shots on target. Besides some dodgy distribution at times, the Spaniard had a decent game.

Malo Gusto – 4/10

The only Blues player with less than 5/10 is Malo Gusto. The right-back has not been in good form lately and that continued against Palace. He looked somewhat shaky at the back and allowed Eberechi Eze to assist Palace’s equaliser.

Josh Acheampong – 7/10

It didn’t look at all like Josh Acheampong was making his first Premier League start for Chelsea. The 18-year-old looked comfortable alongside Levi Colwill in the centre of defence. He should have scored in the first half with a headed effort.

Levi Colwill – 7/10

Colwill makes the odd mistake but he’s generally been a consistent performer under Enzo Maresca. That verdict applied to the academy graduate against Palace as he was steady throughout.

Marc Cucurella – 5/10

Marc Cucurella was just about the better of the two Chelsea full-backs on Saturday but he could have done more to stop Jean-Philippe Mateta’s goal. He didn’t have the same impact in possession as usual either.

Moises Caicedo – 7/10

It wasn’t one of Moises Caicedo’s best games in a Chelsea shirt but that has more to do with the extremely high standards he has set this season. The Ecuadorian was solid in the centre of the pitch and broke up multiple attacks as he always does.

Enzo Fernandez – 6/10

Enzo Fernandez had a decent game in midfield but was arguably lucky not to be sent off late in the game. If the injured Romeo Lavia were on the bench, the Argentinian would probably have been replaced in the second half.

Pedro Neto – 7/10

Pedro Neto impressed on the right wing and played the full 90 minutes, which he doesn’t normally. The Portugal international looked threatening whenever he ran at full speed towards the Palace defenders.

Cole Palmer – 7/10

Cole Palmer was superb in the first 30 minutes, drifting into space and picking out inch-perfect passes as he usually does. He took his goal really well but was dispossessed before Mateta’s equaliser that ultimately cost the Blues two points.

Jadon Sancho – 8/10

Jadon Sancho’s moment of brilliance was the highlight of the match. His dummy to go past Chris Richards was exceptional and his subsequent pass to Palmer was clever. The winger gets an 8/10 for that skill alone.

Nicolas Jackson – 6/10

Nicolas Jackson will be disappointed not to have scored against Palace. He came close on a few occasions, including an outside-of-the-boot-shot in the first half. But the striker deserves some credit for looking like a constant threat.
