Chelsea took on Ipswich Town at Portman Road on Monday, looking to return to second place after losing 2-1 to Fulham last week.
But they missed the chance to do so after being beaten 2-0 by the home side, with Liam Delap scoring the opener. Delap has been linked to Chelsea and managed to punish the Blues from the spot.
The striker had a good game overall, but the same cannot be said about most of Enzo Maresca’s team.
The Chelsea manager made five changes, and it is fair to say his decision to do so backfired.

Filip Jorgensen
Came in for first-choice goalkeeper Robert Sanchez. He was calm on the ball and got the simple passes right at the start of the game but then gave away a penalty. Made some good saves afterwards, though. 6/10.
Axel Disasi
Did not really have much work to do in the first half. Attacked more in the second 45 minutes but played such a sloppy ball that resulted in Ipswich’s second. Is just not comfortable at right-back. 4/10.
Tosin Adarabioyo
Struggled to deal with Delap’s physicality and power. Delap played on his side instead of Levi Colwill’s, which proved to be the right call. 4/10.
Levi Colwill
Did not struggle as much as his centre-back partner but was certainly not his best game. Because of injuries, Colwill is having to play alongside different central defenders. It is not helping him. 6/10.
Marc Cucurella
The inverted full-back was more wide than usual but did not offer a threat there. Looks so much better when he is coming into midfield. 5/10.
Moises Caicedo
Was strong on the ground and in the air. His touches were good as well. Moises Caicedo’s midfield partnership with Enzo Fernandez is really coming along. 7/10.
Enzo Fernandez
Got in between Ipswich’s midfield and tried to progress play with balls through the lines and out wide. 6/10.
Noni Madueke
Made a return to the startling line-up after being dropped for the Fulham defeat. Had a decent effort in the second half but did not pose his usual threat on the right. 4/10.
Cole Palmer
Was very quiet in the first 20 minutes, especially by his lofty standards. Literally hit the post about a minute later before being denied a lovely assist after Joao Felix’s goal was ruled out for offside. Had another effort tipped onto the woodwork before the first half ended. Did not do much in the second. 6/10.
Joao Felix
Pretty ineffective on the left at first but started to take up some really dangerous positions in and around Ipswich’s box after drifting in. He was marginally offside for his disallowed goal. 6/10.
Christopher Nkunku
Did not offer the same focal point as Nicolas Jackson, struggling to get into the game. He was almost invisible. 3/10.
Nicolas Jackson 5, Jadon Sancho 5, Malo Gusto N/A, Pedro Neto N/A.
