Chelsea face Premier League winners Manchester City in Sunday’s Community Shield. They will hope to end their pre-season with a win.
Chelsea have lost in the season’s traditional curtain raiser the last four times and we’ve looked back at all of them…
2017: Arsenal 1-1 Chelsea (4-1 on pens)

Last season, Arsenal repeated their FA Cup final victory with another Wembley win over the Blues.
Victor Moses opened the scoring before Pedro was sent off on 80 minutes, and Sead Kolasinac equalised just two minutes later.
Thibaut Courtois and Alvaro Morata both missed penalties, with the Belgian’s spot-kick especially poor. That allowed Olivier Giroud to net the winner.
2015: Arsenal 1-0 Chelsea

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s first-half strike won the game. It was the first time Arsene Wenger had beaten Jose Mourinho and it set the tone for the 2015/16 debacle.
It was a sign of things to come. The rot set in here.
2012: Chelsea 2-3 Manchester City

Wembley hosted the Olympic final the day before, so the 2012 Community Shield was switched to Villa Park.
Fernando Torres scored first, before Branislav Ivanovic’s red card. City then netted three goals in ten minutes, to win the game.
2010: Manchester United 3-1 Chelsea

After this defeat, The Red Devils went on to regain the title and knock the Blues out of the Champions League in 2010/11.
Javier Hernandez’s comical goal provided the highlight. Antonio Valencia and Dimitar Berbatov meant Salomon Kalou’s goal was a consolation.
