Nicolas Jackson and Enzo Fernandez will take most of the credit for Chelsea’s 2-1 win against Leicester City on Saturday.
Both players got their names on the scoresheet, with Enzo Fernandez also setting up Nicolas Jackson’s goal for Enzo Maresca‘s side.
It was Jackson’s 21st Premier League goal, taking him past former Chelsea striker Hernan Crespo.
As well as the Senegalese forward and Fernandez, though, Benoit Badiashile also deserves some credit for Chelsea’s win.

Benoit Badiashile showed improvement
This was Badiashile’s first real test since Chelsea’s 2-0 defeat to Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup last month.
The central defender had a game to forget that evening. He did not win a single aerial duel and made one error leading to a shot.
It was a different story against Leicester, though. Badiashile played much better, finishing the tie with a 7.2 match rating on Sofascore.
He was really aggressive, coming out of his backline to put pressure on Leicester’s attackers. It was really proactive defending.
AC Milan’s sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli wants to sign Badiashile, but he showed at the King Power Stadium that he still has something to offer to Chelsea.
Benoit Badiashile’s stats in full
Against Leicester, Badiashile made two clearances, blocked one shot and recorded four interceptions. Throughout the 90 minutes, he was also not dribbled past.
| Benoit Badiashile’s numbers vs Leicester | Total |
| Minutes played | 90 |
| Clearances | 2 |
| Blocked shots | 1 |
| Tackles | 0 |
| Interceptions | 4 |
| Dribbled past | 0 |
If the Frenchman wants to remain in Maresca’s team, then he is going to have to keep playing like that.
The Chelsea boss has been very settled on Levi Colwill and Wesley Fofana this season and had Malo Gusto or Reece James been available for the trip to Leicester, then Badiashile would probably not have started.
Ultimately, Badiashile, who earns £90,000 a week at Stamford Bridge, according to Spotrac, faces a tough task breaking into the Chelsea team and remaining there. But performances like his one on Saturday will keep Colwill and Fofana on their toes.
