Jason Cundy singled out an underrated Chelsea player after his performance in the victory over Everton.
Chelsea fans will enjoy their weekend after watching the team pick up a much-needed win at home to Everton in the Premier League.
Nicolas Jackson clinched the three points for the Blues in the 1-0 result on Saturday afternoon. Remarkably, it was the striker’s first goal since 15 December.
Enzo Maresca’s side are up to fourth in the division table as they keep the race for Champions League qualification in their own hands.

Jason Cundy thought Trevoh Chalobah was immense against Everton
Jason Cundy highlighted Chelsea’s Trevoh Chalobah for an excellent performance at home to Everton that may not get the credit it deserves.
When discussing Chalobah via Chelsea’s official app on co-commentary, Cundy said (1:18pm, 26 April) – “He’s been brilliant. He’s gone under the radar a little bit because of how good we’ve been with the ball. He’s been excellent Chalobah. He deserves a special mention from me.”
He later added in the second half (1:48pm): “Chalobah has been excellent.”
Along with the rest of Chelsea’s backline, Chalobah delivered an eye-catching performance in defence against Everton. Incidentally, they’ve now recorded nine clean sheets in the Premier League so far this season.
Chalobah looked pretty imperious at the back in Saturday’s game, showing his class both on and off the ball.
| Minutes played | Accurate passes | Tackles won | Clearances | Duels won | Fouls committed | Dribbled past | Match rating |
| 90 | 61/68 (90%) | 2/2 (100%) | 9 | 3 | 0 | 0 | 7.7 |
The 25-year-old defender spent the first half of the season on loan with Crystal Palace before being recalled by the Blues in the New Year.
Enzo Maresca promised Trevoh Chalobah he’d play regularly following his return to Chelsea In fairness, he’s played 14 times across all competitions since he returned.

Chelsea may need to think Trevoh Chalobah’s future
It’s previously been claimed that Trevoh Chalobah won’t have a long-term future at Chelsea.
Based on what we’ve seen from the Blues academy graduate in the second half of the season, he’s one of the strongest centre-back options at the club right now.
The club’s spent a lot of money in recent years, particularly on centre-halves, but it’s the homegrown duo of Chalobah and Levi Colwill that looks good together in the heart of defence right now.
If Chelsea are being fair, they’ll keep Chalobah as part of their plans moving into next season.
