It is fair to say that Joao Felix’s second debut for Chelsea went much better than his first one.

Joao Felix returned to Chelsea last week for a second spell with the club after spending half of the 2022/23 season with them.

In that campaign, the forward’s debut came against Fulham, but it came to a premature end after he was sent off for a bad tackle.

Fast forward to his second debut for Chelsea versus Wolverhampton Wanderers over the weekend, and it was a completely different story after Felix came off the bench to score. Paul Merson has discussed both Felix and Cole Palmer following the former’s return to west London.

Joao Felix glad to be back at Chelsea

Felix seems really happy to be back at Chelsea and scoring goals for the Blues again.

Following his side’s 6-2 win against Wolves on Sunday, he took to Instagram to share a post with the caption: “I missed that! Let’s goooo Boysss”.

In response, Palmer sent a fire emoji, while another one of his teammates, Noni Madueke, replied with the word “baller”.

It was also a great game for Madueke, who went on to score a hat-trick. Enzo Maresca had one issue with Madueke’s performance, however.

Joao Felix could start against Crystal Palace

After scoring against Wolves, many Chelsea supporters will want to see Felix start in the Blues’ next Premier League fixture versus Crystal Palace.

It is not impossible, with Mykhailo Mudryk really struggling at Molineux on Sunday. The Ukrainian was hooked off at half-time and replaced by Pedro Neto.

It would now be a bit of a surprise if he started against Palace. Neto, though, was also able to make an impact like Felix when he came on, setting up his compatriot.

He could easily get the nod to start at Stamford Bridge this weekend, so there is no guarantee that Felix will be named in the first XI. However, following his goal at Molineux, he is certainly in contention to be included.
