The main talking point from Chelsea’s win over Napoli was Liam Rosenior’s decision to start with only one recognised centre-back.

Liam Rosenior has turned to Trevoh Chalobah and Wesley Fofana of late at centre-back, but that wasn’t the case against Napoli.

Chelsea decided to go with Wesley Fofana alongside Reece James, which raised the eyebrows of almost every single supporter.

It didn’t go to plan. Chelsea were constantly caught out at the back with Fofana basically having to cover the space himself, as Napoli easily bypassed the press.

A change was made with Trevoh Chalobah coming on in the second-half, but the mind still wonders what the new Chelsea boss was thinking.

Chelsea fans finally have their answer on the mystery decision, and it doesn’t make sense.

Speaking to TNT Sports after the game, Rosenior had this to say.

“I wanted to be aggressive in the first half. We corrected it at half-time, made personnel changes… we won in a different way than I expected. First team to win here in a long time…”

This makes things even more confusing after watching the first-half display, as Chelsea were far from aggressive with how they approached the game.
