Norwich 0-0 Chelsea: Man of the Match

How can we possibly pick one player who impressed on Saturday? A truly poor performance from Chelsea, as they drew 0-0 to Norwich in the third round of the FA Cup. A replay will be held next week, adding to the Blues’ already hectic schedule. Most of the eleven starters at the weekend have done nothing to show Antonio Conte why they should be given regular football. Anyway, here’s who impressed on Saturday.

3. Charly Musonda

Although he only played around 15 minutes in total, Charly Musonda makes this list. Due to the lacklustre performance from the rest of the players, the Belgian is in third. Replacing Kenedy in the 78th minute, he looked full of energy and running when coming on. Although he didn’t manage to hit the target, he seemed willing to test the Norwich goal, something the Chelsea players had been shying away from. Musonda has recently returned from injury, so his performance will be highly encouraging for him, and the club.

2. Davide Zappacosta

Davide Zappacosta is another player who slightly impressed on Saturday evening. Going forward, the Italian looked promising. Also, defensively he looked good. He was one player who looked to change gears in the first half, and run at the home side. In the second half, he almost opened the scoring with a looping volley. He has already scored two wonder goals for Chelsea this season, and he almost added a third.

1. Willian

Brazilian Willian is the player who impressed the most at Carrow Road on Saturday. The winger was full of running and energy from the start, and was Chelsea’s main attacking outlet during the game. Willian forced a few good saves out of Norwich goalkeeper Angus Gunn, and had the game’s best opportunity but shot straight at the goalkeeper. The best player in a very disappointing Chelsea performance.
