Pedro Neto has been one of Chelsea’s star performers this term, and it looks like he will continue to be a key player under Liam Rosenior.

Neto has already played over 30 games for Chelsea in the current campaign, scoring seven goals across those appearances.

Enzo Maresca was a fan, and Rosenior appears to be one as well, starting him in the Blues’ latest Champions League game.

On Wednesday night, Chelsea beat Pafos 1-0. It was not their best performance, with Neto being one player who had a difficult outing.

Pedro Neto registered 15 unsuccessful crosses against Pafos

Neto is more than capable of putting in a good cross into the box. In fact, crossing may be his strongest attribute.

However, during the Pafos game, he struggled to find any of his teammates with his delivery. According to Sofascore, the winger attempted 15 crosses, but not one was successful.

In terms of stats, it is one of the most shocking you will see this season. Of course, Neto cannot be solely blamed. Perhaps a centre-forward of Liam Delap’s physique could have done better when Neto was launching all of those balls into the box.

Nevertheless, to attempt 15 crosses in a single game and not have any of them connect with a teammate is alarming.

Rosenior recently described Neto as “outstanding”, and he can be from time to time. But as a manager, you have to have one or two concerns about him.

Pedro Neto’s game too predictable at times

As a defender, it probably can be a bit easy to read Neto. His game is about making a bit of room for himself before putting in a cross. That was evident to see against Pafos.

It would be ideal if the Portuguese perhaps cut in more often and went for goal. Ultimately, he just needs to switch things up a bit more instead of attempting 15 crosses in a single match. Do that, and Neto will become a much better attacking player.
