The Chelsea players’ individual grades for the draw against Liverpool are as follows.
Goalkeeper:
Kepa: 7 – Made a fantastic save to deny Mane and his distribution was excellent. Had he been taller he may have reached the shot that went in but that is hardly his fault.

Defence:
Cesar Azpilicueta: 5 – Uncomfortable on the ball especially when high up the pitch. Not in good form.
Antonio Rudiger: 7 – Got back brilliantly to clear off the line after recognizing the danger of Salah bearing down on Kepa. The complete defender.
David Luiz: 6 – Failed to get goal side of his man on several occasions. But his passing from the back was absolutely outstanding. That alone gives him a good argument to play every week.
Marcos Alonso: 8 – King of this week’s grades. His best defensive performance I can remember. He was consistently excellent in a game in which he was often exposed one on one with Salah or at the back post defending a two vs one.

Midfield:
Jorginho: 8 – The maestro was superb in possession. The Blues are lucky to have him and owe him so much.
N’Golo Kante: 7 – His passing was improved today as he set Hazard free in space with some lovely balls. His pressing was invaluable in keeping Liverpool at bay.
Mateo Kovacic: 7 – He tired and was correctly taken off but the team suffered as a result. Excellent pass for the goal and was diligent in his defensive duties.

Forwards:
Willian: 6 – Slows the play a little too much and needs to run in behind more. But he was fairly tidy in possession.
Eden Hazard: 7 – Scored with another excellent finish but will be disappointed he could not beat Alisson one on one in the second half.
Olivier Giroud: 6 – Is significantly better than Morata in retaining possession but his lack of space does limit the attack at times.
