Chelsea made it another afternoon for Rob Edwards and Wolverhampton Wanderers to forget on Saturday.
The Blues managed to beat Wolves 3-1 at Molineux, with Cole Palmer scoring a first-half hat-trick.
With Manchester United also winning, Chelsea’s victory against Wolves was needed in the race for top four. Michael Carrick’s side currently sit in fourth but are only a point above their Premier League rivals.
Cole Palmer is back!
If Palmer can stay fit and continue firing, United could be overtaken before the end of the season.

Rob Edwards fed up of Cole Palmer
Edwards discussed Palmer in his post-match press conference, joking that he cannot stand the attacking midfielder after his latest batch of goals against his team.
Speaking to the Daily Mail’s Kieran Gill and other reporters, Edwards said: “I’m not sure I like that lad very much! He’s scored a couple against me before. He’s a special footballer.”
Edwards’ Chelsea counterpart, Liam Rosenior, also spoke about Palmer following his latest exploits.
Unsurprisingly, Rosenior expressed his joy over getting to watch Palmer play, sharing that he loves being a spectator when the 23-year-old is on the pitch.
Who is Chelsea’s most entertaining player to watch?🤩
Palmer’s hat-trick has taken him to seven goals in 13 Premier League appearances this season, which is a good return. Had it not been for injuries, the Englishman would probably have had even more.

What Cole Palmer did to Rob Edwards’ Luton side
As Edwards touched on, this is not the first time that Palmer has punished one of his teams. Back in the 2023/24 campaign, Palmer’s first as a Chelsea player, the England international scored twice in a 3-2 victory over Luton Town.
Edwards was Luton manager at the time and could not find a way to contain Palmer, who also managed to register an assist during that game.
It is almost certain that Wolves will be relegated from the Premier League, with their loss to Chelsea being their 19th of the season. It means Edwards will not have to face Palmer in the 2026/27 campaign, which is at least one positive for the 43-year-old!
