Two Chelsea players were spotted in conversation with Bayern Munich manager Vincent Kompany at full-time of their clash in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
The Blues came out second-best in their European opener against the Bundesliga champions, and had individual errors to blame for things not going their way.
Trevoh Chalobah put through his own net in the first half, before a rare Moises Caicedo error conceded a penalty which allowed Harry Kane to get on the scoresheet.
A stunning Cole Palmer goal did keep Chelsea in the game, but ultimately wasn’t enough to get them back level at any point after going behind.

Vincent Kompany approached two Chelsea players after Bayern Munich defeat
Owen Hargreaves praised Palmer after the game, with him certainly showing that he is at the levels required to compete at this level for Enzo Maresca’s side this season.
He nearly had another goal to celebrate too, however VAR intervened to put an end to any late hopes of a Blues comeback.
At the end of the game, according to journalist Simon Johnson, Kompany made an effort to approach Palmer, as well as teammate Tosin Adarabioyo.
He said: “Kompany went over to talk to Palmer and Tosin on the pitch.”
The performances of the two players were likely a topic of discussion, however there will have been something else for the trio to discuss too.

Kompany’s history with Palmer and Tosin
Both Palmer and Tosin spent the majority of their youth careers with Manchester City, a side Kompany played for between 2008-2019.
While the attacker didn’t feature for the first team in this time, the ability he has will have clearly made him known to the City captain at the time.
Tosin made sporadic appearances in the cup competitions for City when Kompany was there, and has certainly leaned on some of the Belgian’s leadership traits in his role of responsibility as Chelsea’s most senior player.
Bayern represented Chelsea’s toughest game in the group stage of the competition, however a strong result is now mandatory against Benfica, who will be managed by Jose Mourinho.
