Cole Palmer misses out on Chelsea’s clash with Pafos, and it’s not just because he’s being rested.

Liam Rosenior has made six changes to his side to face Pafos this evening, which includes Cole Palmer not being named in the squad.

Liam Delap gets the nod at the pinnacle of the attack, and there’s even a change at left-back, with Rosenior opting to go with Jorrel Hato.

It’ll be fascinating to see how Reece James plays in the Enzo Maresca midfield role, unless Rosenior opts to use Hato at centre-back, Malo Gusto at left-back, and put the Englishman at right-back.

Nonetheless, Chelsea fans will have to wait to see David Luiz, who starts on the substitutes’ bench.

Cole Palmer’s absence for Pafos has been explained

Liam Rosenior spoke to TNT Sports before the game, where he revealed that Cole Palmer is struggling with a strain.

“He picked up a tiny little strain, I mean tiny, more a fatigue injury, in the last game. So we just want to make sure in this phase of the season that everyone is feeling really, really good.”

He also mentioned that he’s hopeful he’ll be okay for the Crystal Palace clash.

This comes after rumours circulated that Palmer is unhappy living in London, but that’s all it is, merely rumours at this moment in time.
