Michael Golding will be on the bench for Chelsea tonight as the Blues face AFC Wimbledon in the Carabao Cup.
That is according to Nizaar Kinsella of the Evening Standard.
So, what do Chelsea fans need to know about Michael Golding? Let’s take a look…
What’s the story?
Well, the 17-year-old could be in store for a night he’ll remember forever.
Kinsella believes Golding is “very highly regarded” by those at Chelsea, and the teenager is going to be amongst a number of other youngsters on the bench at Stamford Bridge tonight.

The Kingston-born midfielder has already won 11 caps for the England Under-17 side, scoring three goals in those outings, having previously shone for the England Under-15 side and also the England Under-16s.
Chelsea actually signed Golding from AFC Wimbledon after he finished his campaign at Under-12 level, so it would be a real coincidence if he ended up making his senior debut against his old side.
Who is Chelsea wonderkid Michael Golding?
Playing in the Under-18 ranks, Golding is not as well known as Chelsea’s other huge talents, like Andrey Santos, Cesare Casadei, Carney Chukwuemeka and others.
However, we expect people will know all about the central midfielder if he continues developing at this rate.
Chelsea’s official website describes Golding as someone who “possesses good leadership skills” – as well as an “industrious and creative player with an eye for goal”.
Additionally, the Chelsea gem has captained England at Under-16 and Under-17 level, further emphasising his leadership qualities.

With a manager like Mauricio Pochettino at Stamford Bridge – who helped develop the likes of Dele Alli, Kyle Walker and Harry Kane into superstars at Tottenham – Golding has the perfect coach to oversee his progress.
Hopefully, we can catch a glimpse of Golding in action for Chelsea tonight as the Blues aim to progress in the Carabao Cup.
