A number of eyebrows were no doubt raised when Chelsea officially announced who would be representing them on this summer’s pre-season tour.
Enzo Maresca’s side have now flown to the United States to take on a plethora of top teams to prepare for the new season.
Some big names were not found on the list. Trevoh Chalobah was not selected, with his future still up in the air.
Instead, it looks as if there is a focus on giving some of the younger talent at the club an opportunity to make their mark and potentially put themselves in the frame for minutes at Stamford Bridge next season.
One of those players is Tyrique George, who was included in the official squad announced on Chelsea’s Twitter.

Tyrique George included in Chelsea pre-season squad
George agreed a new contract with the club recently, with them obviously seeing he has immense potential at just 18 years of age.
He was seen in first team training a number of times last season, and even reportedly impressed manager at the time Mauricio Pochettino.
Madueke a big fan of Tyrique George
Another member of the Chelsea first team who has previously been impressed by the winger is Noni Madueke, who suggested people would soon be aware of his talents at the top level.
Whether he remains at the club for the upcoming season or is loaned out, this is a fantastic opportunity for George to prove his talents to Maresca.
The left-wing spot is likely to be occupied by one of Raheem Sterling or Mykhailo Mudryk for the start of the season, however there are certainly no absolutes when it comes to their future at the club.
Despite looking for a move for him, Sterling is keen to prove his worth to the club and fight for his place, with him likely to be entering the season as the club’s highest earning player.
