One Chelsea youngster has taken to social media to announce that he is back available for selection at Stamford Bridge.

Diego Moreira took to Instagram to share the news that he was back from his loan in France.

Moreira had spent the opening part of the season with Lyon, however the side vastly underperformed based on their expectations in this period.

This is despite some impressive showings from the 19-year-old, with him even at a point benching former Chelsea transfer target Rayan Cherki temporarily.

However, his game time soon dried up, and he was quickly becoming another Chelsea loanee who was seeing the season go to waste.

Chelsea have already recalled Andrey Santos, Cesare Casadei and David Datro Fofana from their loans away from the club.

The latter has already moved on to Burnley, whereas the Italian is expected to be a part of Mauricio Pochettino’s squad for the rest of the season.

Moreira back at Chelsea

Moreira could also join that list, with him taking to Instagram to confirm his time at Lyon was over.

He said: “Lyon supporters today is the end of my loan with the ol. I wanted to thank you for your welcome from the first day, the first match, from the first steps at Groupama.

“These are memories that are forever etched in my memory. I wish the players as well as the supporters that they achieve their goals in the second part of the season.”

It remains to be seen, how much of an impact the youngster can make on this Chelsea side this season if he remains in West London.

He did make his debut for the club back in August in the EFL Cup win over AFC Wimbledon.

With Cole Palmer, Noni Madueke and Raheem Sterling all likely to be ahead of him for minutes on the right, this season may well end up being about gaining experience alongside some of the best players in world football.
