Journalist Simon Phillips has now claimed that Chelsea youngster Carney Chukwuemeka is approaching his return to full fitness.
He told his Substack that the Englishman will be back not long after Christopher Nkunku, who is expected to return to first team training after the international break.
Chukwuemeka has been absent since the second game of the season after limping off with an injury against West Ham.

The timing was as bad as it could get for the 20-year-old, with it coming minutes after he scored his first goal for the club.
When he had got himself back on the bench, it was reported that he had suffered a setback that has seen him back on the treatment table for a while longer.
Now though, Phillips has issued a positive update on the return to fitness of Chukwuemeka.

He said: “I have heard that he has started cardio and light running though, and that he is now doing well with his recovery.
“Chelsea are wary of any further setback and aggregation, so Carney is working closely with the medical staff at Cobham to make sure that he does not rejoin full first team training again too soon.
“At the rate he is going, the hope is that he will be back and available for selection again in December, and he is actually not too far behind Christopher Nkunku and Romeo Lavia, who are expected back in full group training any moment now and both have a very slight chance of making a squad in November – with December being the more realistic target.”
Chukwuemeka’s return will be key to a side who are preparing for the standard fixture congestion that comes with entering the Christmas period of the season.
