Given Chelsea are not currently in the Champions League, supporters are having to watch players who left the club make their own mark in the competition.

It has also been an opportunity to see a number of the players they have been linked with in the transfer market at the highest level.

Chelsea fans were impressed by Viktor Gyokeres after he found the net yet again for Sporting Lisbon, with there even being some comparisons to club legend Diego Costa.

Another side who were victorious last night were AC Milan, with a plethora of former Blues on display there yet again.

Christian Pulisic scores direct from a corner in the Champions League

Arguably their best addition from Stamford Bridge so far has been Christian Pulisic, who they signed for a fee of just £20m.

After scoring against Liverpool earlier in the competition, the American found the net again against Club Brugge in their 3-1 win.

This time though, Pulisic was on target directly from a corner.

It was the winger’s seventh goal of the season already, with him also contributing three assists.

Pulisic was underrated at Chelsea

Chelsea have signed a number of wide attackers since the departure of the American, however it is fair to say not all of them have hit the ground running.

The likes of Mykhailo Mudryk have not regularly found the net, and their numbers seem to suggest Pulisic was underrated during his time at Stamford Bridge.

Pulisic admitted he was happy after leaving Chelsea, with regular gametime not being a concern since he made the move to San Siro.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Fikayo Tomori are also players who have certainly improved since they left Chelsea, being regular starters at AC Milan.

Chelsea’s own European exploits continue tomorrow night when they return to action in the Conference League with a trip to Greece to face Panathinaikos.
