Chelsea parted ways with a number of players over the summer, however one of those they did keep hold of was actually being targeted by a number of big Premier League clubs.
After being sanctioned by UEFA, the Blues had to sell big over the summer in order to continue signing new players they could register to feature in the Champions League.
The likes of Noni Madueke, Joao Felix and Christopher Nkunku left the club for big money, with them making more over the summer than any Premier League club ever has.
There were some players who didn’t get their move. Tyrique George was one of those who was expected to depart, with minutes looking difficult to come by in the first team squad.

Top Premier League clubs wanted Filip Jorgensen this summer
Another player who has struggled for game time so far this season is Filip Jorgensen. His one start this season came in the EFL Cup, when Robert Sanchez was suspended following his red card.
Jorgensen was criticised for his performance against Lincoln, and has not exactly nailed down a place in the first team squad.
Despite this, the Blues kept hold of him over the summer, although now it appears that they did so in the face of plenty of interest.
Sky journalist Kaveh Solhekol said that there was serious interest from elite sides in the Premier League in Jorgensen, however it was his choice to remain at Stamford Bridge.
He said: “Filip Jorgensen, who’s the number two at the moment. He is somebody who, I’ve got to tell you, some of the biggest clubs in the Premier League, tried to sign him in the summer, but he decided to stay at Chelsea.”

Chelsea’s goalkeeper plans
Chelsea are pushing on with Sanchez and Jorgensen for now, however it looks as if there could be a different outlook come 2026.
The Blues expect Mike Maignan to join when his contract comes to an end at AC Milan, and have a youngster coming through who will very quickly put the pressure on.
Mike Penders has been starring during a loan spell at Strasbourg, and Chelsea have high hopes for what he will deliver when he does come through into the first team squad.
As for Jorgensen, it feels as if he is one who could be on the chopping block, with him not making much of a mark since his £21m move.
