Chelsea have had a season to forget.

Mauricio Pochettino‘s men have not played well, evident from their league position.

Chelsea are currently ninth in the table and were recently knocked out of the FA Cup. They also lost the Carabao Cup final 1-0 to Liverpool.

Cole Palmer has been one of few positives. The 21-year-old has scored 23 goals and provided 13 assists in 40 appearances for the Blues.

The club will be happy with him, but it appears that they are also pleased with one of his teammates.

Chelsea impressed with 24-year-old

Again, this has not been the campaign that Chelsea wanted.

There is now a very good chance that they miss out on European football for a second successive season after finishing in 12th place last term.

However, while Pochettino’s team have struggled as a whole, the club seem to be happy with the performances of Conor Gallagher.

According to BBC Sport, Gallagher has impressed senior members at Stamford Bridge this term.

It has been a good season for the midfielder, who wants to get even better.

The Premier League club Conor Gallagher could join in the summer

Gallagher has been such an important player for Chelsea this term, making 45 appearances in all competitions.

As per WhoScored, he is currently making the most interceptions per game in Pochettino’s squad.

However, with his contract running down, he could be sold in the next transfer window.

In terms of potential destinations, a report from The Telegraph claims that Tottenham Hotspur have Gallagher on their list of targets.

Chelsea fans will not want to see the 24-year-old go, especially to one of their fiercest rivals, but if a new contract is not signed before the end of the season, it seems a possibility.

According to The Telegraph, Chelsea value Gallagher at £50m, so the England international could become one of the club’s most expensive sales if he is sold for that price.
