Reports have claimed that one Chelsea player is looking for a healthy rise in salary in a potential new contract at Stamford Bridge.

According to 90min, Conor Gallagher is looking for a contract that is on par with fellow midfielder Moises Caicedo if he is to extend his future at Stamford Bridge.

There has been a lot of talk over whether Gallagher will still be at the club at the end of this season, with his current deal approaching its final year.

This is despite the fact that his recent form has seen him step up to be one of the more important players on the pitch in recent weeks.

He has found his goalscoring touch recently too, finding the net three times in big moments in the last two games.

This included a dramatic brace against former loan side Crystal Palace on Monday night, as they returned to winning ways in the Premier League.

Following that game, pundit Jamie Carragher claimed that he had been more impressed by the England international than both Enzo Fernandez and Caicedo.

The latter has been showing improvements in recent weeks, although it is fair to say that he has endured a slow start to life at Stamford Bridge.

90min have claimed that the Ecuador international earns around £150k-a-week, and this is a figure Gallagher would be hoping to compete with if he was offered a new deal by the club.

It has been widely reported that the midfielder is extremely keen to stay at Chelsea, however it has been seen before that they will sell players, no matter how important, if they don’t get on board with their terms.

This season has proven that the Englishman is as crucial a cog in the Blues squad as anyone else, and should be kept on for the upcoming seasons.
