Chelsea’s first-team star claims that his form has been a bit up and down so far this year, but he maintains belief in his football ability.

In general, Chelsea have made a really positive start in the opening few months of the 2024/25 season. They sit third in the Premier League table after the opening 11 gameweeks, which has surprised a lot of people.

Jamie Carragher admits he got it wrong about Chelsea because he didn’t expect them to perform so well under Enzo Maresca.

The Blues manager deserves massive credit for arriving at Stamford Bridge in the summer and settling into things so quickly.

Chelsea star Noni Madueke discusses his form this season

Chelsea and England winger Noni Madueke, 22, has admitted that he’s had a mixed season so far.

The £29m man (Sky Sports) claims that he’s not always reached the levels he wants for the Blues this campaign, but he still has confidence and backs his ability.

“I have got a lot of belief in my ability. Even if it is not going so great, I still believe I can impact games. That is what I tried to do against Greece and thankfully it worked,” Madueke said, as quoted by The Guardian.

“Also at Chelsea … I have had some great moments this season and sometimes I have not been as good as I like but that is part of the process. I am always full of confidence and that does not change when I put on an England shirt.”

Noni Madueke needs consistency

If Madueke can just become a bit more consistent, he’s got everything to be a top-class attacker.

The right-winger impressed and got an assist in England’s 3-0 away win at Greece earlier this week. Chelsea fans raved about Madueke’s display against Greece, where he displayed his directness and trickery on the international stage.

In terms of his club form, the left-footed forward is a regular starter for the Blues. His form has been a little sporadic of late, though.

Speaking less than a month ago, Alan Smith called Madueke an automatic starter for Chelsea. However, it doesn’t feel that concrete because his output has dried up recently.

With Pedro Neto continuing to impress every week, Madueke must step his game up to hold onto the starting right wing position.
