Despite there being less than two weeks until the Premier League season gets underway, Chelsea are very much not done when it comes to transfer business.
It seems there could still be players coming in and out of Stamford Bridge, with Conor Gallagher’s move away close to being confirmed.
It looks as if there is an appetite to strengthen too, with Enzo Maresca deep in preparation for his first season as a Premier League manager.
A striker is reportedly high on the agenda for the Blues, with it being claimed that they are interested in a deal to sign Samu Omorodion from Atletico Madrid.
Chelsea medical today for Samu Omorodion
It has been claimed a fee has been agreed between the two sides, with the youngster currently representing Spain at the Olympics.
Despite that, Fabrizio Romano has stated that he is set to undergo his medical with the Blues today in order to finalise the deal.
He said: “Understand Chelsea are planning to book medical for Samu Omorodion in Paris today.
“Deal done for £34.5m to Atlético Madrid, Omorodion will sign seven year contract after medical.”
Chelsea supporters seem not too convinced by the signing of Omorodion, with them left wondering if the profile of an unproven yet promising striker is exactly what they need at this stage.
Chelsea still interested in Victor Osimhen
There is still an expectation that Nicolas Jackson will remain the number one striker at the club for this season, although his fitness is being monitored ahead of the first Premier League game of the season against Manchester City.
Reports had returned that Chelsea were holding an interest in signing Victor Osimhen, with Napoli themselves keen on bringing in outcast Romelu Lukaku.
However, the terms the Blues would be looking for in order to pull this deal off look unlikely to suit the Serie A side or the player, and there is a real possibility Omorodion becomes their last addition of what has been another busy summer.
