Newcastle got revenge on Chelsea for their Premier League win at Stamford Bridge at the weekend as they dumped the Blues out of the Carabao Cup last night.
Chelsea were beaten 2-0 at St. James’ Park after Enzo Maresca made the decision to make 11 changes to his starting side.
This has frequently been the case when the Blues have taken part in cup competitions, however he was let down by some individual performances last night.
Chelsea fans have called for Axel Disasi to be sold after his nightmare at the back in a fully-rotated defense that struggled in the north-east.
One player who may have been hoping for a rare appearance was Ben Chilwell, who has somewhat been exiled from the first team setup this season.

Chilwell likes Lewis Hall Instagram dig at Chelsea
His only appearance of the campaign came in this competition, but he was again nowhere to be seen as the Blues took to the pitch last night.
Former Chelsea star Lewis Hall had a far more enjoyable evening against his former side, performing well on the left of defence.
He seemed to relish this with his Instagram post after the game, captioning it: “Enjoyed that one”.

Chilwell was pictured liking the post, potentially showing frustration at his current situation at Stamford Bridge.
It was thought that Marc Cucurella was the number one choice to play on the left of defence for Chelsea under Maresca, however the last two Premier League games have seen a natural right-back begin the game there.
Renato Veiga has seemingly leapfrogged Chilwell in the pecking order, with him enjoying a very strong start to life as a Chelsea player after joining in the summer.
It is likely that Chelsea will push again to permanently sell Chilwell during January, however they may struggle to get that done with big deals tending to wait until the summer transfer window.
