Raheem Sterling is currently the highest-paid player at Chelsea, succeeding Romelu Lukaku.
That is according to a report from The Athletic, which states that Raheem Sterling earns in excess of £300,000 a week at Stamford Bridge and did not see those wages cut after the Blues’ failure to qualify for the Champions League.
The winger was the first signing under Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital, joining from Manchester City in a £50m deal last year.

However, Sterling is still trying to show that he is worth all of the money that has gone into bringing him to west London.
He really struggled in his debut season at Stamford Bridge, managing to score just six goals in 28 Premier League appearances.
Raheem Sterling is improving
His form has definitely picked up this term. The 28-year-old is currently the team’s top scorer with two goals and has probably been their best attacker.
According to WhoScored, Sterling is completing 2.2 dribbles per game, the most in Mauricio Pochettino’s squad.
He is really trying to spearhead Chelsea’s forward line at the moment.

Even so, two goals are not enough and some of his decision-making and execution in the Blues’ recent 1-0 loss to Aston Villa needed to be better.
All in all, then, while Sterling has had a bit of a revival at Stamford Bridge this season, Pochettino still needs him to reach another level, and the same goes for the rest of the team’s attackers.
Five goals in six Premier League games is simply not good enough.
